Conflict ResolutionBlog 7

1.) Pick a church leader and research what he/ she has said about conflict resolution. Below share at least two of your favorite findings.
My favorite church leader is Dieter F. Uchdorf. He's amazing and a stud. My favorite things that he said about conflict resolution are:
-One time, he was driving and saw a bumper sticker on the back of a car. This was a really interesting bumper sticker. On it, the bumper sticker said "don't judge me because you sin differently". This is a lesson to not pass final judgement on someone.
-Also, in a general conference talk he was talking about how when there are conflicts, all you have to do is figure out what causes it and just "STOP IT." Simple as that.

2.) What is the difference between destructive conflict and constructive conflict?

Destructive conflict the prevents the problem from being resolved and makes it harder to solve.
Constructive Conflict helps each party to find out what problems they have with each other and figure it out. Also, constructive conflict provides a way to release tension and is geared towards mutual understanding.

3.) Do you currently embrace good conflict or evade it? Analyze your current way of managing conflict and find two areas of improvement.

I'm not sure how well I embrace good conflict. I suppose i'm in the middle. We all make mistakes and sometimes we do well. Having conflicts can help us grow and I've had a lot of good types of conflict and a lot of bad kinds. My current way of managing conflict is to either go alone and think about it for a while and not talking to them. What I should do is communicate better and learn to come out of the box. Also, another good way of managing conflict is to be able to translate what the other person is saying and get their point of view.
